JAMES A. SMITH
JAMES A. SMITH is a Hampshire born writer and musician who has lived in London since 1977. He has a long history on the independent music scene, as exampled by post-punk minimalists The Beach Bullies (We Rule The Universe, Musclebound Records, 1981, re-released by Manufactured Recordings, 2015), and as a pioneer of computer music with Kunath/Smith (Shiny Blackness – Unstable Sounds, 1997). Improvised music and spontaneous writing have been a constant throughout his creative life. A collection of his more formal writing – I Saw Michael Caine – was recently published by South London Books.
