SAADET TÜRKÖZ

Saadet Türköz (voice) – Zurich-based singer, improviser, and composer Saadet Türköz weaves Kazakh-Turkish folk roots with free improvisation and avant-garde exploration. Born in Istanbul to Kazakh parents from East Turkestan, she moved to Switzerland in 1981, where she merged inherited traditional songs of daily life and emotion with contemporary vocal techniques.

Saadet is a key figure in international experimental music, she collaborates with icons like Elliott Sharp, Irene Schweizer, and Bobby McFerrin, while releasing evocative solo and duo albums on labels like Intakt. Winner of the 2023 Swiss Music Prize and 2026 Zurich Canton Culture Award, her work celebrates cultural fusion, extended voice, and boundary-pushing sound. Saadet adds her deeply expressive, nomadic vocal artistry to half of ONe_Orchestra New in this intimate setting.
